Salma Ataullahjan (born April 29, 1952) is a Canadian Senator. She was named to the upper house by Governor General Michaëlle Jean, on the advice of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, on July 9, 2010, and will sit with the Conservative caucus. With this appointment Ataullahjan becomes the first Canadian senator of Pakistani and Pushtun descent. She had been the Conservative Party's unsuccessful candidate in Mississauga—Brampton South during the 2008 federal election losing to Liberal MP Navdeep Bains.

Ataullahjan is an advocate for the South Asian community; she is the co-chair of the Canadian branch of The Citizens Foundation, an international organization that since 1995 has built 660 schools for Pakistan’s poorest children and is an executive member of the Canadian Pashtun Cultural Association. She immigrated to Canada in 1980 from Pakistan as a new bride. Prior to her appointment to the Senate she worked in the Toronto area as a realtor. She has a diploma in computer operations and is also an artist.

Dr Essam Michael is the Clinical Director of Astra Fertility Group. He is certified by the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He finished his residency training from Queen's University in 1994. Dr Michael joined ISIS Regional Fertility Centre in Mississauga in 1999 as a founding partner and staff consultant. Dr Michael has also been an active staff member in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Osler Health Centre, Etobicoke Campus, since 1994.

Dr Michael manages and treats a wide range of medical and surgical fertility problems. He is highly skilled in endoscopic procedures and is experienced in a full range of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatments. His area of interest is focused on uterine and pelvic factors (tubal disease and endometriosis) related infertility.
